Following a Water Crisis Iran is Set to Launch 100-Day Water and Wetland Scheme

Iran’s water shortage: lack of efficiency, no planning and bad management.
Experts and the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), explain that agricultural water usage in Iran is 22 percent above the global average, while water productivity (crop yield per cubic meter of water consumption) is one-third of world average. The agricultural sector generates about 10 percent of the country’s gross domestic product (GDP) but consuming 92 percent of the country’s fresh water.
