Mexico City had no running water for 8 days due to poor infrastructure

Mexico City residents didn’t have running water for over a week until this weekend. Water trucks were used to distribute water into water tanks around the city. The city government had originally shut off the system for short-term maintenance, but encountered issues that have caused the continued lack of water. The amazing thing is while thousands of homes had no water, the streets of the capital were flooded by wasted water due to 1,056 leaks in 8 days! According to studies, about 40% of the water that reaches the city is wasted every day.
